He graduated from the American Academy of Art and has worked as a free lance illustrator for over twenty years. He does advertising art such as product packaging and magazine covers, specializing in holiday and children’s products. In recent years Jack has enjoyed illustrating children's books. He has twenty published books including

Tales of the Kingdom, The Christmas Wreath, The Greatest Gift, and Benjamin's Box.

Children’s books are an area of interest he shares with his wife, Kathy, a former teacher and now editor. Jack and Kathy are the parents of a young adult daughter, Kaidrea, son, Shea, and daughter-in-law, Becky. Jack has always enjoyed relating to children. He still remembers the feeling as a child of dreaming deep into a picture book and considers his paintings successful if he can capture that feeling of wonder now.
